Welcome to BTI Light Systems

Alpha Ventus, Germany

The Alpha Ventus project is the first German Offshore Wind Project in larger scale. Alpha Ventus is placed approximately 56 km from the German shore and on 30 m depth.

For this German pioneer project BTI Light Systems A/S has delivered the Marine Aids to Navigation System for the Multibrid offshore Wind Turbines as well as helicopter lights for the total Wind Farm (MultiBrid and Repower).

On two of the Wind Turbines we have installed our CB1501 Control Board for operation of one 5 Nautical Miles lantern and a measuring station for daylight level and visibility. The CB1501 is installed on two of the Wind Turbines in order to secure redundancy. The CB1501 interfaces to the SCADA system in order to control the marine lanterns on the other Wind Turbines. On these we have installed our CB1502 Control System, which each operates two 5 Nautical Miles lanterns.

All the systems have 96 hours battery back-up.

The marine light is controlled by an astromic clock set to Cuxhaven time with an offset of one hour. The flash rate of the light is synchronized with other marine lanterns by a GPS receiver.
